Equity Records - Greenville and Chester County

This index lists only the names of the major parties. Equity Court files frequently, but not always, contain specific family information. Equity bills for partitions and petitions for appointment of guardians, in particular, are of great genealogical value. Any of the equity files listed below can be ordered from the Reference and Research Division, South Carolina Department of Archives and History, P.O. Box 11669, South Carolina 29211-1669. As a first step, one would be well advised first to inquire as to the number of pages in the file of interest.
