PHS Meeting Schedule for October and November 2011
Saturday & Sunday October 15 & 16
The Piedmont Historical Society WILL NOT have the usual formal meeting featuring a speaker in October.
Instead, our local members are invited to attend the two day 225th year celebration at Cedar Spring Baptist Church.
On Saturday October 15th from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM the events are the following:
(1) A re-enactment by local living history soldiers of the Revolutionary War Battle of Cedar Spring from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
(2) Carriage rides on a first come, first serve basis from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM and from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM—no carriage rides during the living history re-enactment.
(3) Cedar Spring church history displayed inside the Fellowship Hall from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Parking will be available at the church and at the Cedar Spring Place entrance of the School for the Deaf and Blind. This event is real History on display!!
On Sunday October 16th, the Cedar Spring Baptist Church history will be displayed in the Fellowship Hall from 9:00 AM to 10:20 AM. The morning worship will follow from 10:30 to 12:00 noon. After the morning worship service, a 225th Anniversary Celebration Luncheon will be held at the Herbert Center of the School for the Deaf and Blind. Reservations for the luncheon are required and must be made in advance. For more information, contact the church office at (864) 585-5526.
